Comment Policy

Moderation

First-time commenters are moderated; we try to review and approve comments as quickly as possible, so please do not resubmit your comment if it does not appear immediately.

Content

This blog is aimed at promoting intelligent, rational discussion amongst publishing professionals and organisations that use publishing to support their core businesses. As such, readers can expect a professional and respectful level of debate. Abusive or flaming comments and those using excessive profanity will be edited or deleted.

Please keep your comment below 200 words; if you have a whole lot more to say, or want to take the discussion in a new direction, either publish it as a thought on your own blog, and use trackback – or consider offering us a guest blog to publish here. Please submit suggestions for a guest blog to blogs@cpl.co.uk.

CPL reserves the right to edit all comments for excessive length, for coherence and to remove repetitions, for infractions of this Comment Policy, and for glaring errors of spelling or grammar. Such editing will never try to alter the core message or thrust of your comment.

Links

The purpose of leaving links is to allow readers of this blog to further their understanding of the topic under discussion. This blog is not here to promote or advertise your own website. Inappropriate or purely self-serving links will be removed, and comment spammers will be blocked.

Signature

You may add a signature if you wish, but please keep it to two lines, and do not include a link to your website.

Identification and privacy

You are required to submit your name and email address in order to leave comments. Invalid email addresses or ones that require anti-spam interaction (e.g. a captcha) will result in your comment being deleted. Your email address will not be used in any mailing list or passed on to any third party.

Copyright

Copyright both in the original blog posts and all appended comments belongs exclusively to CPL. By posting a comment, you are granting CPL the right in perpetuity to use, alter, display or remove that comment as it sees fit.

Updating

This policy may be updated from time to time, so before posting a new comment please check back to ensure you are familiar with our current policy.
