CPL kicks off 2012 with new digital magazine launch | 12 Jan 2012
CPL has launched a monthly all-digital magazine for the newly created College of Social Work (www.tcsw.org.uk).
We have taken the new publication, called Social Work Matters and available here, from concept to delivery in only a few weeks. We won the contract to design and develop the magazine in November 2011, with the launch issue being sent out this week
Available as one of the key membership benefits of The College, the magazine focuses on social workers themselves and examines how the profession can develop to meet the challenges it faces.
Mark Ivory, policy and communications manager for The College and the magazine editor, said: ‘Our research tells us that social workers want a positive, independent publication in which practitioners are prominent, both as contributors and as subject matter. We will do what our title promises by celebrating the success of social workers and their power to make a difference that matters in the lives of the people they work with.’
He praised the CPL team for their work on the first issue. ‘I am delighted with how it has turned out and CPL have already proved themselves to be a creative, flexible and resourceful team. Producing the magazine in digital-only format offers plenty of opportunities for innovation and imagination in the way content is presented and I look forward to seeing the magazine develop – for example with video content and more links to further reading – over the next few issues.’
Mike Sewell, CPL managing director, said: ‘It’s great to kick off the new year with the launch of a brand-new magazine.
‘The College has taken a bold decision to opt for a digital-only format and we look forward to working with Mark Ivory and the other contributors to make Social Work Matters as engaging, informative and user-friendly as possible. We will be liaising with The College to monitor members’ feedback and ensure the magazine is available on the platforms and in the format readers want.’
