Mike Sewell, managing director
Mike became CPL managing director in 2009, having previously been editorial director and, before that, a freelance editor for many years. He has edited a number of magazines for the agency, including those for Molson Coors, the Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity, the Federation of Small Businesses and the Trading Standards Institute. Before joining CPL he worked on publishing projects with the communications teams at a number of major companies – including NTL, Sainsbury’s and National Grid – and was an account director at leading London PR and publishing agency Golin Harris. He originally started his journalistic career at the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Evening Star.
Jonathan Wilson, director
Jonathan, who was one of the founding directors of CPL, takes the strategic lead on the marketing services work that CPL carries out for Darley Stud Management Ltd. He also has overall responsibility for the production of all print and digital material produced by CPL, which amounts to tens of thousands of individual pages a year. Before setting up CPL with Mark Rosselli in 1996, Jonathan was production editor of The Observer, responsible for overseeing the quality and timeliness of all sub-editing and page layout. He originally joined The Observer as a sub-editor on the business news desk, having previously been a sub-editor on the Cambridge Evening News and the Harlow Gazette, where he cut his journalistic teeth.
Mark Rosselli, chairman
Mark set up CPL with Jonathan Wilson in 1996 and was our managing director until 2009. As chairman, he remains closely involved in the business, with a particular interest in providing print and digital publishing consultancy for clients. For example, in 2011 he carried out a consultancy project for Chatham House (the Royal Institute of International Affairs). Prior to setting up CPL, Mark was assistant editor at The Observer, in charge of both home and foreign news, before which he was one of the original staff reporters at the launch of The Independent, where he rose to become news editor of the daily and Sunday titles. He previously worked as a freelance reporter for The Sunday Times, The Times and the Mirror, and did a two-year stint as reporter and producer for BBC Radio Cornwall.
