CPL a finalist in medium-sized business awards

CPL fought off strong competition to be shortlisted as a finalist in the Cambridgeshire Business Awards.

The recognition in the medium-sized business category – for companies with a turnover of between £5 million and £25 million – highlighted the agency’s ever-growing reputation in the region.

Last month’s awards ceremony, postponed from 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic and normally held in the impressive surroundings of King’s College, Cambridge, was presented online this year.

CPL, one of three companies shortlisted in the category, ended up being pipped to the post by building company CPS.

“Our hopes rose when the first two letters rolled off the announcer’s tongue,” said CPL managing director Mike Sewell. “Unfortunately, it turned out to be CPS not CPL!

“However, we did really well to get to the final three, which is a tribute to the creativity, quality and commitment of the whole CPL team – especially during the past year when most people have been working from home.

“I am proud that we have grown to the stage where we feature in this category at all, as you need to have annual sales of more than £5 million to do so – plenty of businesses never manage to achieve that figure.”

The awards were organised by the Cambridge News and Cambridgeshire Live website
