CPL work makes shortlist in five categories for 2017 MemCom awards

Outstanding work over the past year has led to CPL being shortlisted for seven projects across five categories of the 2017 MemCom awards.

MemCom (Membership Communications) is a resource for membership bodies, charities and not-for-profit organisations. The MemCom Membership Excellence Awards celebrates outstanding membership marketing, communications, product and service development.

CIBSE Journal, the members’ magazine for the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, has been shortlisted for magazine of the year. The Log, the quarterly members’ magazine for the BALPA (British Airline Pilots Association) has been nominated for best relaunch after its redesign last year and change in media sales and editorial strategy.

Our editorial, design and wider teams work incredibly hard on these magazines and it is fantastic to see them recognised in this way - Sophie Hewitt-Jones, director - client services, CPL

TS Today, the digital magazine of the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, has been put forward for infographic of the year, while the UK Chamber of Shipping’s annual report has been shortlisted for annual report of the year.

Alex Smith and Martin Bewick, editors of CIBSE Journal and the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Catalyst magazine respectively, will be up against each other in the editor of the year category.

Meanwhile, the CPL team is pleased to hear that the Royal Statistical Society’s Significance magazine is shortlisted in the relaunch of the year category. CPL senior designer Kevin Reed worked closely with editor Brian Tarran to deliver the redesign and continues to provide consultancy on the project.

Sophie Hewitt-Jones, director – client services for CPL, is delighted with the news. “Our editorial, design and wider teams work incredibly hard on these magazines and it is fantastic to see them recognised in this way. We work closely with all our clients to ensure we create fantastic content that meets their objectives and aspirations. All of these projects have had a very successful year in that respect and we are looking forward to being at the awards ceremony next month.”

CPL will be exhibiting at Memcom’s annual conference in London on 17 May, after which the awards will be presented.
