Batemans is a small, UK-based educational charity for disadvantaged young people that CPL has supported as one of its official charities for more than a decade.
During that time, the lives of hundreds of young people aided by Batemans have been transformed. Now the charity is focusing on its biggest project yet – to build its own school and boarding home just outside Chennai.
CPL’s pro bono content marketing support for Batemans includes creating the annual newsletter and wish list, maintaining and developing its website, and offering additional ad-hoc input, including editing the recent Batemans webinar.
Anne Desir, chair of Batemans trustees, said: “I would like to thank everyone at CPL for the tremendous support you have given us over the years. I know that you were recently involved in the creation of our webinar and its editing. The people around me who have seen it commented on how slick and engaging it was.
“And, of course, I should not forget the annual newsletters and wish list that are always so well laid out and reader friendly. Despite the pandemic, we are able to move forward and give so many young people a real chance in life: you have helped us so much in achieving that.”
CPL managing director Mike Sewell added: “Back in 2006/7 my family and I spent a year living in Chennai and volunteering for Batemans, so it’s a charity that is close to my heart and I have seen at first hand the fantastic work it does. I am grateful to the whole team at CPL for the support they give to Batemans, which has been worth tens of thousands of pounds over the years.”
A recent innovation has involved CPL developers creating online payment portals for the annual wish list and to sponsor a child – both will help Batemans meet its target of raising £70,000 a year to fund its projects in Chennai.
In addition to Batemans, CPL’s other official charity is Cambridge-based Wintercomfort for the homeless, for which our team provides a range of content marketing support, either pro bono or at cost.
