New year heralds new look for CIBSE Journal

Members of CPL’s creative team have started 2017 by reinvigorating the international building services magazine, CIBSE Journal, with a new design.

Written, designed and produced by CPL on behalf of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), CIBSE Journal is read by the organisation’s 20,000 members worldwide and is the leading magazine for the building services sector.

CPL designer James Baldwin, editor Alex Smith and deputy editor Liza Young led on the project, creating a fresh design with clean lines and a more high-tech feel.

Every design element on each page has a specific purpose and the bold, vibrant illustrations give the magazine a modern, lively feel. Clever schematics and detailed diagrams help to ensure CIBSE Journal’s highly valued technical content has more impact than ever.

Rowan Crowley, managing director of CIBSE Services, says: “We are delighted with CIBSE Journal’s new look. The updated design and more modern feel of the magazine will help support the continued high level of technical expertise and analysis our readership has come to expect. The Journal has always been highly regarded by our members and wider readership and this redesign will ensure it continues to be so.”

Mike Sewell, managing director at CPL, says: “I’m proud of what James, Alex and our team have created, and look forward to seeing further iterations of the design coming into their own in future issues during 2017 and beyond.”
