Silver for Impact at CMA International Content Marketing Awards

Impact, the members’ magazine designed by CPL for the Market Research Society (MRS), won a silver award at this week’s CMA International Content Marketing Awards 2016, for best use of illustration.

The awards judges praised the entry for the way it created an “excellent connection between the piece and the illustration”.

Impact is a quarterly journal that focuses on the business benefits and outcomes of research. Designed for market research professionals, Impact encourages members to be part of the debate about the fast-changing industry landscape. Within each issue there is a special report that covers a major industry topic.

The July 2016 issue special report, headlined disruptive innovation, explored how businesses can transform themselves by using insight techniques. The report was represented visually through a series of illustrations, originally created by Kerby Rosanes, which CPL lead designer Kevin Reed adapted to portray the concept of ‘survival of the fittest’.

Kevin (pictured above with Jane Bainbridge) was delighted with the success. “The illustrations were created to reflect the content and really bring the words to life for the reader. We work closely with MRS’s editor Jane Bainbridge to make that happen, and it is so rewarding to have our work recognised in this way.”

Christian Walsh, digital director for MRS, praised Kevin and Jane for the achievement. “This is a great acknowledgement of their fantastic work,” he said. “They make a great team in terms of bringing the excellent content to life and giving it the edge that other designers would miss.”
