Who we are

CPL is a fast-growing content agency. We create content that helps clients tell stories with impact, whatever the channel. Our reputation is building with membership and professional bodies, corporates and brands. They trust us to hone their messages and convey them in the best way for their audiences: members; customers; clients or employees.

We make it our business to understand what it is you want to achieve, so we can develop the right strategy and create work that works.

CPL’s team, based in Cambridge, includes journalists, editors, graphic designers, content strategists, videographers, developers, print production specialists and commercial experts. We bring stories to life in print, and in digital formats via websites, social media channels and video. Speak to us if you need expert strategy, flawless delivery and content-led communications that work.

Where we’ve come from

The editorial background of our founders has a tangible influence over who we are and what we do. Two senior national broadsheet newspaper professionals created CPL in 1996 and we are still shaped and driven by high journalistic standards. Our attention to detail, respect for deadlines and commitment to the subbing and proofreading processes helps us to deliver consistently best-in-class, editorially led content.

Lots of the people who work at CPL have significant experience working in-house with clients and with national and international editorial, publishing and content organisations.

Where we’re heading

Content marketing is a fast-growing discipline, offering great opportunities to help deliver your communications strategy. But it can also be confusing, making it hard to know where and how to prioritise. At CPL we continue to apply our experience – built up over more than 20 years – to guide you and your organisation through the noise.

We create content and contract publishing solutions to inspire and engage your clients, customers, members or employees. The CPL team never forgets that this is your magazine, or your website. That's because we immerse ourselves in your organisation and sector. We put ourselves in the shoes of your members, your clients and customers, and think hard about what will help strengthen your relationship with them.

We want you to trust that our ideas and advice are put forward for a reason. Yet we are also flexible and will do what you want and need, if that makes sense. We’re thoughtful, creative and responsive and we think that's what will help us to grow into one of the most respected and successful content agencies in the UK.

Many CPL clients have worked with us for years. They like us because we listen to them, understand their priorities, agree a strategy and then do what we say we will.

People

People make the difference. Experienced, skilled, and highly motivated, our teams will get the job done on time and to budget. Most work is created in-house by our journalists, graphic designers, digital and video experts. And we are supported by a network of freelancers – including writers, photographers, illustrators, filmmakers and developers – so we can always assemble the best team for the job. We have the expertise to respond with a flexible, innovative and accomplished approach. Projects are delivered with minimum fuss and maximum flair, often to a short deadline.
