Team CPL all set for Cambridge Half Marathon

A record number of CPL people will be taking part in this Sunday’s Cambridge Half Marathon.

Up to 10 members of the CPL team are set to pound the streets on a route that passes some of the city’s most iconic sites, including King’s College, The Backs and the Fitzwilliam Museum, and also heads out to the nearby village of Grantchester, before the finish on Midsummer Common.

The CPLers will be joining thousands of others braving the cold to take part in what has become one of the UK’s biggest half marathons.

For some CPL people, this will be the first time they have tackled such a long distance, while others are more experienced runners. After months of training, including a few lunchtime training sessions from the CPL office, the excitement (and a fair amount of trepidation) is now building.

“It’s my first half marathon,” says Matt Styrka, senior associate – media sales. “As well as looking to record a reasonable time, it will also be fun to challenge myself against my colleagues.”

“It’s been great to share training tips and some lunchtime runs with other CPL people,” adds Sophie Hewitt-Jones, director – client services. “We’re just hoping that the temperature picks up a bit before Sunday!”

For Sophie and CPL MD Mike Sewell, the training will not stop after Sunday. Respectively, they are building up to run the London and Brighton Marathons during April, and you can sponsor Sophie and sponsor Mike via these links.
