CPL has won a contract to handle the media sales for BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, which includes advertising and sponsorship for its members’ magazine, ITNOW, and its growing digital platforms.
BCS is committed to making IT good for society, campaigning on behalf of the global IT sector and the interests of IT professionals
Published quarterly in conjunction with the Oxford University Press, ITNOW is the magazine for BCSs’ 70,000 members. It covers a range of subjects including information security, health informatics, big data and issues of current interest within the IT and computer science industry.
The CPL team have worked with BCS to develop a new media sales strategy for ITNOW, which includes selling against content, targeting new areas within the industry and creating a wider range of advertising options.
Richard Walters, CPL’s head of media sales, is delighted with the contract win: “ITNOW is a great project for our team. We work with many other membership organisations and understand the challenges and opportunities that their publishing offering can mean for advertising revenue.
“IT and computer science is a market that continues to grow and change with new technology and its implementation, and use within business and other areas is changing fast. ITNOW has a strong circulation and presents as an interesting advertising platform for any suppliers within the sector. We look forward to working with existing advertisers and targeting new companies.”
Brian Runciman, Head of Content for BCS, added: “I feel we will benefit from CPL’s understanding of membership organisations such as ourselves. They have proven experience in this area and we very much look forward to working with Richard and his team.”
