Circular, the magazine that helps empower its readers to achieve their work and career ambitions by focusing on a “world beyond waste”, has picked up another national award.
Circular, which is edited and designed by CPL, won its third award in three years in the 2022 Membership Excellence Awards, held in London at the end of September.
Created on behalf of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), the magazine spearheads the organisation’s drive to help deliver a circular economy.
Paul Sloggett, marketing director for CIWM, is delighted with the win. “Well done everyone,” he said. “Thank you for making the best membership magazine in the business, quite possibly in the world. It is in my book anyway.
“In the grand scheme of circularity, resource efficiency and waste management, Circular makes a real contribution. We help our members and wider readership to push things forward towards a world beyond waste. It’s great to know we are creating the best possible magazine to help achieve this purpose.”
Circular won the award for ‘Best Magazine for a Professional Association or Membership Organisation’. Meanwhile, CPL’s Alex Smith, who has overseen the development of CIBSE Journal for the past decade, was highly commended in the ‘Editor of the Year’ category.
Sophie Hewitt-Jones, client services director for CPL, said: “What great news. Two years ago Circular won in the ‘Best Magazine’ and ‘Digital launch’ categories. So to pick up another award now is testament to the work of everyone involved, from both CIWM and CPL. And Alex does a consistently excellent job on CIBSE Journal so we were delighted to see his contribution recognised in this way.”
