CPL presents degree show creativity award to Anglia Ruskin student

CPL presented a creativity award to student Elliot Walker at Anglia Ruskin’s Cambridge School of Art Degree Show this summer.

The Degree Show, called Electric Eye, was a celebration of final year work carried out by students across graphic design, illustration, animation, film & TV production and photography.

A team from CPL was invited to judge the Graphic Design departments’ projects. “As they were working to no particular brief, there was a very wide range of work presented,” explains CPL senior designer, Debra Nelson.

“From cultural reflections, political debates or literary representations, there were many really interesting ideas. It was a very tough choice, but we were pleased to recognise Elliot for his infographic called ‘Islands of Emotional Discord.’

“It is a visual representation of the emotions within Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. Elliot has taken the emotional development of the characters and the plot and turned it into data. Mapped by act, the infographic has a modern feel and is very engaging.”

Mike Sewell, CPL managing director, said: “As our business continues to grow, we will increasingly look to take on talented graduates through internships and other recruitment programmes. We therefore greatly value our connections with Anglia Ruskin University, and other local higher education institutions. Events like these provide us with a great opportunity to meet potential new talent.
